Tesla Model 3 orders opening next week, along with release of dual motor and performance version specs
In a recent confirmation about the upcoming availability of the Tesla Model 3 electric vehicle for orders, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk informed that Model 3 orders will be accepted by the automaker next week.
Musk also added alongside that the opening of the Model 3 orders will come in conjunction with the automaker’s next-week release of the specifications of the vehicle’s dual motor and performance version.
Musk’s disclosure about Tesla’s plans to open Model 3 orders next week evidently indicate that the automaker will look to create a backlog of orders for the vehicle before it commencing the production of the vehicle in July 2018. Already, Tesla has been guiding deliveries at 4 to 8 weeks for Model 3 reservation holders who are being invited to configure their vehicles.
With Musk also confirming that Tesla will be releasing the specs of Model 3’s dual motor and performance version next week, the reservation holders of the vehicle will get to know about some of the specs and pricing information for those two versions of the vehicle.
Presently, the Model 3 is being produced by Tesla only with the Long Range battery pack, rear-wheel-drive, and the premium interior package. The automaker’s move to limit the vehicle’s option is aimed at streamlining production while it is still trying to ramp up its manufacturing capacity.
