Musk’s disclosure about Tesla’s plans to open Model 3 orders next week evidently indicate that the automaker will look to create a backlog of orders for the vehicle before it commencing the production of the vehicle in July 2018. Already, Tesla has been guiding deliveries at 4 to 8 weeks for Model 3 reservation holders who are being invited to configure their vehicles.
