Tesla hits new milestone of ‘over 10,000 Superchargers’ deployed worldwide

US electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors has hit a new milestone --- the company has now deployed more than 10,000 Superchargers across the world.

The achievement of the new milestone by Tesla Motors has come in coincidence with the opening of a new 20-stall station by the automaker in Belleville, Ontario. The new station will cater to the electric-vehicle charging needs of drivers communing between Toronto and Montreal.

With the opening of the new station by Tesla, the automaker’s Supercharger network deployment around the world has now crossed the ‘10,000 Superchargers’ mark. According to the information shared by Tesla Motors with regard to the new milestone, the automaker officially disclosed that it has deployed over 10,000 Supercharger stalls at 1,261 stations worldwide.

The new milestone related to the deployment of Superchargers worldwide has been hit by Tesla nearly five months later than its targeted timeline. However, despite the five additional months that the automaker took to reach the milestone, it persisted with its plans to build new stations and add Supercharger stalls to existing stations.

Tesla has, of late, been adding new EV charging stations at a brisk pace. The automaker’s efforts will apparently be accelerated further once its next-generation Supercharger -- ‘Supercharger V3’ -- is introduced, most likely by the end of 2018.
