Tesla claims its Model 3 is now the best-selling mid-sized premium sedan in US
On the basis of the new figures shared by Tesla Motors at its recent shareholder meeting, the automaker is claiming that its new Model 3 electric car has bagged the best-seller spot in the mid-sized premium sedan segment in the US.
The claim by Tesla that Model 3 has emerged as the best-selling mid-sized premium sedan in the US have come after a significant ramp up in Model 3 deliveries by the automaker over the past one month.
Tesla had previously asserted in a claim made in May 2018 that Model 3 was on its way to become the best-selling mid-size premium sedan -- electric or not -- in the US very soon. That claim came somewhat as a surprise, especially against the backdrop of the fact that Tesla is grappling with some Model 3 production issues.
Besides that claim, Tesla had said earlier in 2018 that Model 3 had become the best-selling electric vehicle (EV) in the US. The vehicle supposedly beat its rivals by a significant margin to gain the spot, even though it had limited availability because of production constraints.
