Nikola One and Nikola Two hydrogen-electric trucks can now be reserved at zero cost
In a recent tweet on the official company Twitter account, electric-vehicle startup Nikola Motors has announced that customers can now reserve the company’s hydrogen-electric trucks -- the Nikola One sleeper semi-truck and the Nikola Two day cab -- at zero cost, that is, without any deposit.
In announcing a ‘zero cost reservation’ move for its hydrogen-electric trucks, Nikola has revealed that it will make a 100% refund of the reservations already placed by the customers for the Nikola One and Two trucks. The company also stated that it has no plans to use the reservation holders’ money for operating its business.
With regard to the move related to 100% reservation refunds, Nikola said that the company will take a maximum of 60 days to process the refunds for those customers who have already paid the reservation amount for its trucks.
The company also touted that it has received more than $8 billion worth of pre-orders for the Nikola One and Two hydrogen-electric trucks. The production of the trucks is scheduled to commence in 2021.
Asserting that the company “would not use its reservation holders’ money to operate its business,” Nikola said in its Twitter post that a Nikola One or Two units can now be reserved by customers “without any deposit at https://nikolamotor.com/motor;” and added: “With over 8+ billion in pre-order reservations, who needs deposits anyways!”
